With almost five years having passed since the Grenfell Tower disaster, establishing ways to prevent a reoccurrence of that tragic event remains a priority for our industry. The Hackitt Report, which captured the conclusions of the Working Groups tasked with proposing recommendations to address this, suggested that positive change could be brought about through the enactment of the Fire Safety Act and the Building Safety Act. Updating existing secondary legislation is intended to address how property and projects are managed and the culture of those involved in the design and build processes. By transforming industry behaviour, promoting competency and engendering a more collaborative working environment that change can be realised.

Join us for this interactive webinar capturing the latest thinking by industry experts.  We will be exploring the potential impact of the Building Safety Bill, in advance of its final reading, and prior to its enactment in part or whole. Presentations from Turner & Townsend and invited speakers will touch on the following before an interactive Q&A session:

Nattasha Freeman, Director SHEQ – CDM requirements and Dutyholders, competence, and wider statutory requirements

Paul Lane, Director for Fire - Fire legislation updates, fire risk assessments, fire design and insurers requirements

George Mokhtar, Director Technology - Digital tools, BIM and capturing the Golden Thread

Tudor Pop, CBRE Director and Head of Façade Consultancy - the latest changes to relevant legislation in relation to fire safety in façades as well as updates relating to materials and façade systems: to include an  explanation on how to review materials and inspect façades while taking into account the latest legislation, including PAS9980 and EWS1 forms.
